Hello ! This is the last post for this project ! Recently , there's a news saying that the whole world will be experiencing a eclipse . It is all caused by us - the people ! We have to save the earth by recycling !
The 3 Rs . Reduce , reuse and recycle . We can save the electricity by switching off the light when we're not using and reuse the papers . There are many more other ways to save the earth . So , don't hesitate ! Start now !
The future is in our hands so we must take good care of it ! Let's do our part and CHERISH the mother earth now !

hello ! It's been a long time since i posted . Well , this will be my last post . I'm not posting about today , but instead , i'm posting about yesterday !

Our school has adopted a new system whereby everyday , students from the Uniform Groups shout out the commands for the assembly (i.e. for singing the national anthem ) . This particular week has been GB's turn .
For many of us , commanding before the school was a first experience . So it was for me too , when it was my turn this morning . Here's how it went : I did my bets ti sound " professional " , though I couldn't stop my arms from trembling violently . Today , the national anthem seemed longer than usual , and the pledge seemed even longer ! However , I was thankful for the opportunity .
After assembly , I received several comments . Most were words of encouragement and constructive feedback from my ever supportive fellow GB mates . Some though , were negative , coming from some of my classmates . I tried not to take anything to heart and after some thinking , let the matter pass . Why ? Because others had the right to speak , and i have the duty of keeping my temper under control .
Through this i have learnt that we must accept negative things that come in our way . Fighting back only makes things worse . We just have to learn to let things go .

hello everyone ! This will also be my last post . Well , I'm going to share with everyone some inspirational quotes .

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the tight one so when we finally meet the right person , we will know how to be grateful for that gift .
When the door of happiness closes , another opens , but often time we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been open for us .

hello readers ! i'm back again ! Today i'm going to share a motivating story with you all .. its title is " unconditional love " .
A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam . He called his parents from San Francisco .
" Mom and Dad , i'm coming home , but i have a favour to ask . I have a friend i'd like to bring home with me ."
"Sure , we'd love to meet him . " they replied .
"There's something you should know ." the son continued . " He was hurt pretty badly in the fighting . He stepped on a land mind and he lost an arm and a leg . He has nowhere else to go and i want him to comt to live with us . "

moral of the story : friends are a very rare jewel indeed . They make you smile and encourage you to succeed . They lend a listening ear , they share a word of praise , and they always want to open their heart to us .

Here i am again . I'm going to share a story with you , titled " Shoes " .

As Ghandi stepped aboard a train one day , one of his shoes slipped off and landed on the track . He was unable to retrieve it as the train was moving . To the amazement of his companions , Ghandi calmly took off his other shoe and threw it back along the track to land close to the first . Asked by a fellow passenger why he did so , Ghandi smiled . " The poor man who finds the shoe will now have a pair he can use . " he replied .

moral of the story : give more than you take .
Anyway , this period is the Singapore Kindness Movement Week ! so , don't hesistate to be kind !

Hey ! I would really like to share a video clip with people reading this blog !
Well , this video was shown during my school assembly , the " one minute morning inspiration " i mentioned about a few weeks back . It's so inspiring . hello again ! I'm back for posting !
For the past week or so , I have been trying to make more time for one of my favourite hobbies , reading . Nothing can replace books ; they have the amazing ability to transport you to a different world altogether and you don't have to be a genius to read them .
Call me old-fashioned if you please , but i really enjoy classic novels such as " Sherlock Holmes " and " Heidi " . However , I also do enjoy teen fiction , not to mention " Twilight " !
Books teach us to be patient . This is especially so for thick books as a lot of patience is required to complete them . Reading builds on our character too . We can pick up many learning points from books , such as when characters in the story make mistakes . It is entertaining to read about others' lives , real or imaginary , and look at it from a different angle .
Somehow , our lives are also like books . Unconsciously , we fill in chapters everyday in the " book " called life . Fate is not pre-destined , it is us who create the future !
Coming back to where i started , do pick up a book as it can do wonders in relieving stress . Get hooked on a book now !

hello ! I would like to share an experince of mine when i was still young .

Well , people do lie . And when they do that often , it becomes a habit .
It was a so-called mistake to me . When i was young , i told a lie to my sister . She scolded me , of course . Ever since then , she don't believe in whatever i said . I was really hurt and felt regretful . What is the learning point of this then ? Well , it's that we should not lie , be honest . Secondly , we must know what is right and what is wrong . Always be truthful to others and to yourself . Once you are used to lying , it's very difficult to turn back . One small mistake that we make will change people's impression on us . So , be truthful !

There can be no friendship without confident ; and no confidence without integrity !

Hello ! GREAT news ! Girls' Brigade 79th coy won thr BRONZE award and the NEW COMERS' award for the National Drill Competition 2009 ! Oh , for your infomation , we won the bronze award in combination with the XinMin sec girls who are from 42nd coy ! Great job girls ! And , I'm the commander for the squad ! We have started training from last year November . Sometimes , I remember myself feeling so irritated as the attendance was not full , which would in turn affect the performance on that day . There were times setbacks were faced and I wanted to quit . I was very stressed . I persevered and so continued as being a commander as my sister said I could gain experience from it . After hearing of the result , I'm realy very happy and proud . So , never give up and trust that we can do it ! Once again before I end it , congratulations !

Sweat was pouring down our faces . We took in a deep breath and waited for the music to play . My heartbeat seemed to be faster than the tempo of the music . The time was coming . We took our first step forward ...

Wonder what I'm talking about ?
It's Drill Competition 2009 of course 1 ! My fellow teammates and I , together with the XinMin girls , went through 5 months of training for a creative drill routine . This was our very first competition since the forming of our company in 2007 .
So , what was the outcome ? We clinched a BRONZE award and the NEW COMERS' award !
However , this is more than just getting awards , it's about teamwork , perseverance and trust . I have realised the true potential of our company through this competition .
May the 79th coy soar to greater heights !

Hell0 people ! I'm here to tell readers my experience during my Sec. 3 Adventure camp at Malaysia , Kota Tinggi rainforest resort .
Well , I went there with my class and the whole of sec. 3 . It was fun and I learnt a lot from there . Those games I played there made made me believe that nothing is impossible . If you believe you can do it , you can ! It was just a matter of whether you want to try or not . Regardless the result , win or lose , be happy and cheer for the other teams ! There were times when our instructors scolded us for not working together , but it was all for our own sake . I just love my class , 3/3 ! Yay !!

Talent wins games , but teamwork and intelligence wins championship

Hell0 ! Here comes the most exciting part of they year : welcoming the new recruits ! Being a new company in its teething years , we only managed to get 4 recruits . However , looking on the sunny side , we can build closer relationships with our precious sec 1s . So far , I have memorized their names and also identified certain characteristics that makes each one of them special . It's quite hard to imagine that I was once like them though !

As a senior , a mentor and a friend , I hope to guide my juniors at the best I can . I only have one more year with them in Girls' Brigade , so i will make the best out of it . Perhaps I might not be very close to some of them now , but distance makes the heart grow fonder , doesn't it ?
I will treasure my years as a GB 79th coy girl !

Hell0 ! Today was the Girls' Brigade Drill Competition ! And great news ! My team , won 2 awards ! 3 cheers for team 17 ! Well , we won a bronze trophy and the new comers' award ! ^^ All the near five months training paid off . Well , thanks to our the helpers who helped us , and of course to the Xin Min Sec. girls ! And to ourselves ! We've done our teachers proud ! The coming monday would be my GB recruit camp . I'm sure we'll have fun !
GOOD JOB everyone ! Woohoo ~!

Hello ! Exams are finally over ! What a relief ! Well , i have done my best ! I would want to talk about the Sec 3 Adventure Camp i went to during feb. 12-14 last month .

I really enjoyed myself at the camp ! And for your information , it was at Malaysia , Kota Tinggi Rainforest ! It was my second time going there , and i suppose it would be the last time too . I could not contact my parents for 2 nights . There , i learnt to be independent . Washed my own utensils , take care of myself . It was really a fruitful camp ! I learnt a lot from my camp instructors too !
I really want to bring up a matter with regard to my class . The second night , we gathered as a class and rehearsed the cheers to perform for the campfire that night . It did not turn out tight that time . We had disagreements , strong feelings towards each other could be felt . Thinking that it was their fault and our fault , we did not know how else to carry on with it . Then there was this 2 instructor who approached us , asking what happened and if we needed any help . We said no but our facial expressions betrayed us . So , they help us in the coordination . Before they left , we cheered for them , and it turned out right ! Instructors told us about how important it is to have team spirit and teamwork . I then realised it .
On that night itself , it rained . We had a sheltered campfire , it was fun despite the heavy downpour . Well , what i really wanted to say was the camp was meaningful , and as you can see , it really taught me a lot of life lessons .

Don't cry because it's over , but smile because it has happened !

OH NO !! It's exam time , i haven't revised or bought assessment books ! What if i fail ?!

Before you start picking up your textbooks and flipping through frantically , pause for a moment . Breathe in the still air . Listen to the birds twittering outside .
think - why do we panic / faint / have anxiety over examinations ?

It may be that we panic just because others do ! It is quite difficult to not want to be like others . Unconsciously , all of us are actually " copycats " of each other . For example , why do we brush other teeth every morning ? There is no law that punishes people for not brushing their teeth .
Then why do we still take the trouble to do something not enforced upon us ? It's because we've grown up in a place where society hates people with stinky breath in the morning .

Similarly , we might want to score a certain grade just because others are doing so . Such a goal can become too unrealistic and does not meet our needs .

Therefore , seek not comformity but self-improvememt . Remember , there is one and only person you're going to compete against - yourself !

Hello ! I'm here to post the very first post ! I'm going to tell you my experience during the GB Corporal Camp which took place last year !

During my GB Corporal Camp last year , my MDM told us that there is a solution to everything in life . Throughout the camp , I have learnt a lot of things from her , She often emphasise on " Don't quit until you have nothing left . " She told us to persevere , and not to give up easily on something which we're aiming to achieve . It sounds meaningful when said , but it's " more than words " when you imply it in life . What i learnt at the camo still carves deep down in my heart today . Time flies so fast , and whenever i'm doing something challenging , i always tell myself to give my best and more . Whatever the outcome , i feel a sense of satisfactory . My MDM also told me to always look on the bright side of life and never take the easy way out of life !

I can accept failure , but i can't accept not trying !
